Design exbibit for Guatemala, for the event Fashion Utopias, the British Council and British Fashion Council’s International Fashion Showcase 2016 in association with London Fashion Week.
The design draws inspiration from the typical house construction of the local people of Guatemala. The “wire-frame” structure references these buildings and creates vary- ing transparency to allow people to glimpse the displays and discover the designers’ work within. The installation represents a growing creative design culture of the country. We celebrate this by incorporating muñecas quitapenas into elements of the house, symbolizing the flourishing spirit of Guatemala.
